About The Position

As a Security Officer - Parking Garage Patrol Driver in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech and data center location as an unarmed Patrol Officer, helping maintain a professional, welcoming presence across assigned areas. You will conduct routine patrols, support access control processes, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with onsite teams and visitors. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a high-availability data center location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying site contacts and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas including entrances, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and security-related systems as assigned, assist with visitor management and/or badge verification, and document observations in written and/or electronic logs.
  • Complete routine reports, incident documentation, and shift pass-downs, and coordinate with operations and facilities teams regarding security-related concerns and/or required follow-up.
