Job Description As a Security Officer - Oil Refinery in Detroit, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, backed by a caring culture that values integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Requirements

  • 3+ Years' Combined Law Enforcement/Military/Security Experience OR a College Degree in Criminal Justice
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site points of contact and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, process areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards and irregular conditions for reporting.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, managing visitor and contractor check-in, and maintaining logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete routine documentation such as daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift pass-down notes, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site management as needed.
