As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting. Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting campus partners and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, and surrounding grounds and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and interior common areas, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization when required, and directing guests to appropriate destinations per site procedures.
• Complete routine activity logs and incident reports, communicate observations to site leadership, and assist with crowd management during classes, events, and peak arrival and departure periods.
