As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols of platforms, corridors, and nearby areas while maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will assist riders and staff with clear communication, observe and report unusual activity, and support a welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout stations, platforms, mezzanines, corridors, entrances, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor pedestrian flow and access points, help to identify unauthorized activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing direction, requesting assistance, and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete required reports and logs, communicate status updates via radio and/or phone, and support law enforcement and/or emergency services as requested.
