About The Position

As a Security Officer - Night Driver Patrol in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, support access control, and provide helpful customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Respond to alarms, releases, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of operational areas, access points, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Support access control activities such as checking identification, managing visitor processing, and monitoring entry and exit for authorized access.
  • Complete security-related reports and activity logs, and assist with incident documentation and follow-up actions as directed by site policy.
