About The Position

As a Security Officer - Medical Patrol in Shelbyville, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to requests, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors while delivering courteous customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be able to work in a hospital setting requiring vaccines.
  • Be able to work in a hospital morgue.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, unauthorized persons, and medical-facility support requests, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter policy violations and to identify concerns such as unsecured doors, suspicious activity, and/or prohibited items.
  • Support access control by monitoring assigned entry points, verifying credentials as directed, assisting with visitor directions, and helping to maintain orderly foot traffic in lobbies, corridors, and waiting areas.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, and use approved systems and/or radio communications to relay information to Allied Universal management and site contacts.
