About The Position

As a Security Officer - Mall Foot Patrol Driver in Columbus, OH , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will complete routine patrols and visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, assist customers and store teams, and report concerns with clear communication. You will also support incident response, access control, and general site patrols while representing Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a caring culture that puts people first, using an agile and reliable approach every shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests and store associates by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe customer traffic patterns, reporting suspicious or unusual activity in accordance with post orders and client guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and contacting law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Complete routine documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift communications, and coordinate with store management on security-related concerns.
