About The Position

As a Security Officer - Main Entrance Screener in Chester, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced tech and media location, you will greet visitors and staff, conduct entry screening, verify credentials, and help manage access points while maintaining a welcoming presence. You will complete routine rounds near screening areas, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site teams. At Allied Universal, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, reliable approach to supporting daily operations.

Requirements

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a high-traffic technology location.
  • Screen associates, contractors, visitors, and deliveries at designated access points using approved screening methods and equipment while supporting a smooth entry and exit process.
  • Verify credentials, manage visitor check-in and/or badging, and maintain access logs and screening documentation per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Assist with package, bag, and property screening activities that help to deter prohibited items from entering the location, following all client and Allied Universal guidelines.
