Job Description As a Security Officer - Logistics Screener Full-Time in Indianapolis, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure environment by conducting screening at key access points, monitoring activity, and documenting security-related observations using site technology. You will remain visible, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and respond to incidents with professionalism. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access Control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen personnel, visitors, and/or deliveries at designated checkpoints using approved screening methods and equipment, and control access based on site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Monitor assigned areas such as entry points, staging lanes, and dock access for unusual activity that may help to deter policy violations, and document observations per procedure.
  • Complete reports and logs for screening activity, incidents, and access events, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff.
