Security Officer Truck gate Day Shift
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Logistics Entry Control in York, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet team members and drivers, verify credentials, manage visitor and vehicle entry, and document activity. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, and report concerns to site leadership. Requirements
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access to the facility by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing visitors, contractors, and drivers to designated areas.
- Screen and document incoming and outgoing traffic at entrances and/or gates, including checking delivery paperwork, coordinating with shipping and receiving teams, and reporting irregularities per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications and written reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify potential issues, and report maintenance and/or operational concerns.
