Security Officer - Truck Gate
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Truck Yard Screener in Rialto, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet associates and drivers, conduct entry screening and access control, verify credentials, and monitor activity to help reduce security-related incidents. You will complete routine rounds, document observations, and communicate quickly with site teams while delivering strong customer service. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen employees, visitors, and contractors at designated entry points using approved methods such as identification verification, bag and package inspection, and/or magnetometer walkthroughs as required by post orders.
- Control access by processing check-ins and check-outs, issuing temporary credentials when authorized, and directing traffic flow for pedestrians and vehicles to help to deter unauthorized entry.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting onsite management and/or public responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, screening areas, and nearby interior and exterior zones to help to deter prohibited items and/or suspicious activity, with working conditions that may vary by location.
