Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As a Screener at an education location, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while supporting entry screening and access control procedures. You will stay highly visible, monitor activity, and respond to alarms and security-related concerns using a computer and/or tablet as needed. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Having customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by following site-specific, security-related procedures and post orders at an education location.
  • Operate entry screening points by conducting walkthrough and/or handheld metal detection, visual inspections of bags and packages, and directing individuals through screening procedures.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor check-in and badging, and maintaining entry logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Document screening results, unusual activity, and incidents through accurate reports, and communicate observations to supervisors to help to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized access.
