About The Position

As a Security Officer - Lobby Access Desk in Montgomery, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and support visitor and contractor check-in. You will conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with tenants, property staff, and guests. Bring a people-first approach, teamwork, and integrity while using agile, reliable, and innovative service to keep daily operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, maintaining sign-in logs, issuing visitor credentials, and directing individuals to approved destinations within the property.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and controlled doors using access control systems and/or cameras; verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized entry and tailgating.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify property management and/or emergency services as appropriate and document actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, lobbies, parking areas, and the building perimeter to identify security-related concerns such as unsecured doors, suspicious activity, or hazards, and report findings per site procedures.
  • Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports, maintain key and credential accountability, and support security-related procedures for deliveries, vendors, and after-hours access.
