About The Position

As a Security Officer - Lobby Access Control in Theodore, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and support badge processes while maintaining a professional, welcoming presence. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce incidents, and document security-related activity with clear communication. Requirements

• Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access at gates, guard shacks and/or entry points by checking identification, issuing badges, managing visitor and driver logs and directing foot and vehicle traffic.
• Screen incoming and outgoing deliveries, trailers and/or packages as required by post orders, including coordinating with site personnel on dock door access and restricted-area entry.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, yard areas and perimeter, observing for unusual activity and reporting maintenance, hazards and/or policy concerns.
