As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will complete routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, and assist with access control as needed. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies within an education location, and when appropriate, supporting emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate campus contacts and/or public services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with visitor directions and campus information.
  • Complete detailed written reports and activity logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate key information during shift changes using approved Allied Universal protocols.
