Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific procedures and Allied Universal post orders, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, and promptly notify appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services as required.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence halls, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Control access to designated areas by monitoring entrances, checking credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol observations, and security-related hazards, and communicate updates to supervisors and/or campus stakeholders.
