As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine patrols across buildings and grounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control, and assist students, staff, and visitors with clear, professional communication. Requirements
- Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by post assignment.
- Monitor access points and observe for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or hazards; report concerns to site leadership and/or appropriate responders to help to deter unwanted activity.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, directing people to appropriate resources, and coordinating with public responders when needed.
- Document patrol activity, incidents, and/or suspicious observations in required logs and reports, and communicate updates during shift turnover per site procedures.
