About The Position

As a Security Officer - Industrial Rover in Council Bluffs, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support a professional atmosphere for employees and visitors. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and respond to situations with teamwork and integrity, reflecting a caring culture that is agile, reliable, and innovative.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing customer service is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Having a state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout industrial buildings, production areas, yards, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access at gates and entry points by verifying credentials, issuing visitor badges, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and directing traffic flow per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, disturbances, and suspicious activity to appropriate contacts.
  • Complete detailed reports and daily activity logs, communicate observations to site leadership, and assist with security-related inspections of doors, locks, lighting, and alarms.
