As an Allied Universal Security Officer in an industrial manufacturing location, you will manage access control by greeting employees and visitors, verifying credentials, logging entries, and monitoring activity with strong communication and customer service. You will conduct routine patrols and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents while reporting concerns quickly. Requirements

  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff access control points at an industrial location, verifying identification, processing sign-in and sign-out requirements, and issuing temporary credentials per site policy.
  • Control vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit, directing traffic flow at gates and/or checkpoints and helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor alarms, radios, phones, and CCTV systems when assigned, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports including visitor records, delivery documentation, incident details, and shift activities.
  • Screen and route deliveries, contractors, and vendors to designated areas, coordinating with site representatives as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter zones, noting irregular conditions and reporting them per site procedure.
  • Perform security-related checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas, documenting findings and reporting maintenance or access concerns.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuation, severe weather actions, and medical response coordination by guiding personnel and contacting emergency services when directed.
