As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine foot patrols and presence, helping to reduce security-related incidents while supporting patients, visitors, and staff with strong customer service and clear communication. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and partner with site teams to keep operations running smoothly. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM Sun 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 6 months of security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances and controlled areas; assist with access control by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials when authorized, and directing visitors to approved check-in points.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions such as propped doors, unauthorized persons, suspicious packages, and/or restricted-area violations; notify appropriate internal contacts and/or public responders as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical-related disruptions, disputes, and/or alarms, while following site-specific escalation procedures.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and/or severe weather actions by providing directions, maintaining clear routes, and relaying information to leadership.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrol activity, incidents, and observations using required documentation methods.
  • Assist with visitor management and wayfinding, including providing directions, answering questions, and coordinating with site staff for approved access to designated areas.
  • Perform interior and exterior checks of doors, gates, and lighting conditions; report maintenance concerns through established channels.
  • Maintain a professional presence, communicate clearly over radio and/or phone, and coordinate with Allied Universal leadership and site management to support daily operations.
