About The Position

As a Security Officer - Hospital Grounds Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support patients, visitors, and staff with strong customer service and clear communication, while reporting concerns and documenting activity using site technology. Requirements

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or access concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, coordinating notifications, and documenting actions taken per site procedures.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow by observing for unusual behavior, verifying authorization when required, and directing individuals to appropriate locations in accordance with site policies.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity documentation, and communicate pertinent information to site contacts and oncoming personnel.
