About The Position

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, observing for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter security-related incidents.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical-related disturbances, disruptive behavior, and unauthorized access concerns.
Support access control by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials when required, and guiding visitors to appropriate check-in areas based on site procedures.
Monitor cameras, alarms, and/or other security-related systems as assigned, and communicate observations to the appropriate personnel.
Write clear, detailed reports of patrol activity, incidents, and observations, and participate in shift briefings and pass-downs.
Assist with crowd control and queue management during peak visiting hours, special events, and/or emergency department activity, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
Work closely with nursing units, facilities staff, and local responders as needed, relaying timely information and following established response protocols.
Perform additional security-related duties as assigned by site leadership to support daily operations in a healthcare environment.
