As a Front Desk Officer with Allied Universal at a higher-education location, you will welcome students, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting daily access and visitor procedures. You will monitor lobby activity, answer questions with strong customer service, document incidents, and communicate updates to campus partners. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a front desk in an education location by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Greet and screen visitors, students, and staff, issue temporary credentials when authorized, and help to deter unauthorized access by verifying identification and visit purpose.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and entry systems, document security-related activity, and notify appropriate contacts of irregular conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with campus partners and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
  • Complete required reports and logs, route calls and inquiries, and maintain a professional lobby presence that supports a positive campus experience.
