As an Access Control Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, managing access points, and remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will also provide exceptional customer service and clear communication, embodying Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

  • At least six months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare settings.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the building and perimeter to help to deter security-related risks and report any unusual activity or hazards.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in daily logs and reports as required by Allied Universal and client site procedures.
  • Communicate with staff, visitors, and emergency responders as needed to support security-related operations and emergency response activities.
  • Follow all client and Allied Universal policies and procedures specific to healthcare environments, including confidentiality and patient privacy guidelines.
