About The Position
As a Security Officer Gatehouse Control in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and staff by following site-specific access control procedures, screening entry and exit activity, and supporting security-related protocols at the location.
- Monitor gates, entrances, badge checks, and vehicle access points to help control authorized access to the facility, yard, dock areas, and other restricted locations.
- Respond to incidents, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, trailer lots, loading and unloading areas, parking areas, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
- Document visitor activity, deliveries, and unusual incidents, and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior according to site procedures.
