Requirements
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, confirming authorization, and directing individuals to appropriate areas.
- Process visitors by issuing temporary credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and coordinating access approvals with authorized site contacts.
- Monitor doors, gates, and other controlled openings to help maintain orderly entry and help to deter unauthorized access.
- Operate access control systems such as badge readers, intercoms, and sign-in systems, and report equipment issues per site procedure.
- Screen packages, deliveries, and materials per site policy, and route items to appropriate receiving areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifications, and documentation.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, interior spaces, and perimeter, checking for policy violations, suspicious activity, and security-related concerns.
- Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and access logs with clear, accurate details, and communicate key information during shift turnover.
- Support emergency and evacuation procedures by following post orders, guiding occupants as directed, and coordinating with local responders and/or site management.
