Job Description As a Security Officer - Government Screening in Fort Lauderdale, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with the public, provide exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly while assisting with access control and screening procedures. Requirements

Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
X-ray screening experience is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
Screen individuals, items, and/or vehicles entering the location to help to deter prohibited items and unauthorized access.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and the perimeter of the location to help to deter suspicious activity and security-related concerns.
Monitor surveillance equipment and access control systems as required to support security-related operations.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and location protocols.
Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and local authorities as needed during incidents and emergency response activities.
