Job Description As a Security Officer - Government Patrol in Columbus, OH , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents. Your visible presence and commitment to outstanding customer service contribute to a welcoming environment. You will interact with visitors and staff, respond to incidents, and utilize technology to support access control and communication, reflecting our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any unusual conditions.
  • Observe and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly with Allied Universal management, site personnel, and/or local authorities as needed.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
