Job Description As a Security Officer - Government Patrol in Portland, OR , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, providing outstanding customer service, and communicating clearly with visitors and staff. Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, helping to deter unwanted activity and observing for any unusual circumstances.
Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help maintain a secure environment within the government facility.
Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or irregularities according to site procedures.
Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and/or law enforcement as needed.
Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific protocols while on duty.
