About The Position

As a Security Officer - Government Entry Screener in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a prominent government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X ray screening experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including those relevant to airport development projects.
  • Screen individuals and/or property at designated checkpoints in accordance with established protocols for government locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response activities as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activities.
  • Monitor and report any irregularities, unusual circumstances, or security-related breaches to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed during incidents at the location.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of daily activities, incidents, and screening results as required by site protocols.
