Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Patrol in Bloomington, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage incidents. You will support access control, document and report security-related concerns, and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate updates to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, classrooms, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, assist with visitor directions and/or questions, and help to document unusual activity per site procedures.
  • Complete required reports, log entries, and notifications related to incidents, patrol observations, and/or policy violations.
