About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Patrol in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff and guests through clear communication, incident documentation, and responsive customer service while using tools such as computers or tablets as needed. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security experience.
  • Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using computer or tablet - preferred.
  • CPR Certification - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor check-in, ID verification when required by site policy, and directing guests to appropriate areas.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from site leadership and/or public services when needed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and unusual activity in written and/or electronic reports and communicate relevant information to oncoming officers and site management.
