As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a healthcare location, you will help manage entry points by verifying badges and credentials, supporting visitor sign-in, and guiding staff, patients, and guests with professional customer service. You will conduct routine rounds, monitor security-related activity, respond to alarms and/or incidents, and document key details using a computer or tablet. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff at a healthcare location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Manage access control by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, maintaining access logs, and assisting with directions and entry processes.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and/or access points using security-related systems and visual observation, and report unusual activity per site protocols to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and coordinating notifications to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services.
  • Support a healthcare environment by enforcing site rules related to restricted areas, patient privacy expectations, and property handling, while maintaining a professional, service-focused presence.
