Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access Control in Manassas, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech and data-focused location where you will support access control, verify credentials, manage badges, and guide visitors and staff with professional customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document activity using a computer or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • This is a primarily driving post.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech and telecommunications location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification and/or access credentials, managing visitor check-in and check-out, issuing temporary badges as directed, and maintaining access logs per site policy.
  • Monitor entry points, cameras, and alarm systems as assigned, reporting irregular activity and/or maintenance issues through the established chain of communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, building entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
