As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and document visitor and vehicle activity. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, checking authorization for entry, and directing drivers, employees, and visitors to the proper check-in and/or loading areas.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and trailer traffic, assist with gate operations, and document arrivals, departures, and irregular activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with site contacts and notifying Allied Universal supervision as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the building, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, and report concerns per site procedures.
