Job Description As a Security Officer - Gate House Officer in Cranbury, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will help manage badge access, monitor entry points, and complete routine patrols to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and unusual activity, document observations, and provide a welcoming, service-focused presence for employees, visitors, and vendors. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail mall location.
• Staff access control points to help manage entry and exit, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and direct customers, vendors and/or contractors according to site procedures.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, document observations, and communicate unusual activity to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including handling disturbances, medical events, and/or property damage, and completing required reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, store perimeters, common areas, and parking locations to help identify hazards, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity.
