As a Security Officer - Media Access Desk in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom environment, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points and verifying credentials for all personnel and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and deliver exceptional customer service. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including access control for employees, visitors, and vendors.
Monitor entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized access to the location, utilizing electronic access systems as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify security-related concerns.
Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual activities, or emergencies according to Allied Universal protocols.
Assist with emergency response activities as directed by site management or Allied Universal protocols.
Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff to address inquiries and provide assistance related to access control and security-related matters.
