As a Security Officer - Media Access Desk in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom environment, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points and verifying credentials for all personnel and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and deliver exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including access control for employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • Monitor entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized access to the location, utilizing electronic access systems as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual activities, or emergencies according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as directed by site management or Allied Universal protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff to address inquiries and provide assistance related to access control and security-related matters.
