Security Officer - Full-Time Foot Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Full-Time Foot Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms, and use a computer and/or tablet to document activity and communicate clearly. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, employees, and visitors while following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directing guests and verifying authorization as required by site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing timely notifications to site management and/or emergency services when needed.
- Document patrol activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate observations during shift handoff.
