About The Position

As a Security Officer - Full-Time Entry Monitor in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, support visitor processing, and document security-related activity using computer and/or tablet tools. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly with employees and guests, and respond to issues with a people-first approach. You will be part of an agile, reliable team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have CPR certification, preferred.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 lbs, preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, guests, and employees by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech and media location.
  • Manage access control at entrances and designated access points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing arrivals to the proper areas.
  • Monitor and document visitor, vendor, and employee traffic, maintain accurate logs and incident reports, and communicate updates to site contacts as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, notification of appropriate personnel, and coordination with public emergency services when required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify irregular conditions, and report maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
