About The Position

As a Security Officer - Front Desk in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location where you will help maintain a welcoming, orderly environment for patients, visitors, and staff. As a Security Officer, you will complete routine patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and document observations using a computer and/or tablet. Bring strong customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile team that leads with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have CPR and/or First Aid certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, notifications, and documentation per site requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe cameras and/or alarm systems as assigned, reporting irregular conditions and coordinating with site personnel and local responders when needed.
  • Complete detailed reports, maintain shift logs, and communicate security-related information to supervisors and site representatives to support continuity of operations.
