About The Position

As a Security Officer - Freight Screening in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will support day-to-day operations by monitoring entry points, greeting associates and visitors, and conducting screening procedures that help identify prohibited items and reduce security-related incidents. You will stay visible, document activity, communicate clearly with site teams, and respond to situations with professionalism, teamwork, and integrity in a caring, people-first culture.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
Screen and control access at entrances and shipping and receiving points by checking identification, verifying credentials, and following visitor and contractor sign-in processes.
Perform package, bag, and/or vehicle screening as required, including use of screening equipment and visual inspections in accordance with site procedures.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating with site leadership and Allied Universal management.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, including monitoring dock areas, staging lanes, and parking areas for irregular activity and/or policy violations.
