As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will focus on access control and badge verification, greet employees and visitors, and help manage entries and exits with clear communication and strong customer service. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and document security-related activity while partnering with site teams through teamwork and integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

A TSA issued TWIC is required.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control access at entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing visitors and vendors to the proper location.
Screen employees, contractors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site rules, including coordinating inspections of packages, tools, and materials as required by the location.
Operate gatehouse or access control systems, including badge readers, intercoms, radios, and visitor management logs, and report system issues per site procedure.
Monitor alarms, cameras, and other monitoring equipment, and communicate suspicious or unusual activity to supervision and/or site contacts.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical, fire, chemical release, and other industrial emergency notifications as directed by post orders.
Complete required documentation such as access logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports with clear, accurate details.
Coordinate with facility operations and emergency response teams regarding access restrictions, muster point directions, and site entry and exit conditions when needed.
Help to deter unauthorized entry and/or restricted area access by maintaining a professional presence and following access control procedures consistently.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as directed by post orders, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
