As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols of campus areas, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and support a welcoming environment through customer-focused service. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including student and visitor concerns, disputes, and medical-related calls for service, and coordinate with school staff and/or first responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, classrooms, offices, parking areas, athletic fields, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
• Monitor access points for students, staff, vendors, and visitors; assist with visitor sign-in, direct authorized visitors, and report unauthorized persons to site leadership per post orders.
• Observe and report suspicious behavior, unauthorized entry, vandalism, theft, and other policy violations; document observations with detailed written reports.
• Support campus routines such as arrival, dismissal, lunch periods, and special events by providing a visible presence, assisting with crowd flow, and reporting concerns to designated contacts.
• Perform perimeter and interior checks of doors, gates, windows, and critical areas; report unsecured openings, malfunctioning locks, and lighting issues to the appropriate point of contact.
• Operate security-related equipment such as radios, access control systems, and CCTV when available; communicate clearly with Allied Universal supervision and on-site stakeholders.
• Complete incident reports, activity logs, and shift documentation accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines and site-specific requirements.
• Follow post orders and escalation procedures, including contacting school administration and/or law enforcement when directed, and assist with evacuation, lockdown, and shelter-in-place response activities when appropriate.
