As an Armed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, support staff and students with strong customer service, and communicate clearly while acting with integrity. Requirements

Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be 21+ years of age.
Provide a DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR an associates degree with 60 college credits OR a police academy certificate OR a corrections academy certificate.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws and/or training requirements.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, classrooms, administrative areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and to identify conditions that may require attention.
Control access at designated points by checking identification, managing visitor entry procedures, and directing guests to appropriate locations while following site guidelines.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation when appropriate and requesting additional assistance as needed.
Monitor and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or hazards, and document observations through accurate written reports and timely notifications.
Assist with incident scene management by establishing presence, maintaining controlled areas, and coordinating with campus representatives and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
Operate site systems as assigned such as radios, phones, alarms, and video monitoring equipment, and communicate clearly with Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
