As an unarmed patrol officer at a cultural institution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to requests, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while documenting activity using a computer or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, congregants, visitors, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, requesting emergency services when needed, and communicating clear updates to leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, watching for suspicious activity and/or policy violations that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Control access to designated areas by monitoring entrances, checking credentials when assigned, directing foot and vehicle traffic during services and events, and documenting unusual activity.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, including incident documentation, patrol observations, and shift pass-downs, and communicate concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
