As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will patrol and monitor assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, so you will conduct vehicle patrols and respond to calls across campus. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor campus buildings and grounds, help to deter unauthorized access, and support access control by checking identification, issuing visitor directions, and/or managing entry points as assigned.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, coordinating with campus partners, and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic, residential, and administrative areas and the perimeter, noting irregular conditions and reporting maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Complete required reports such as incident reports, activity logs, and shift pass-downs, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
