As a Front Desk Officer at an education location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, providing a welcoming presence while supporting security-related needs. You will manage access control, verify identification, monitor cameras and alarms, document activity, and communicate concerns to site leadership and emergency services as needed. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have 5 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by supporting front desk operations, greeting and directing students, staff, parents, and visitors while following site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
  • Manage visitor access by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining sign-in and sign-out logs, and coordinating with school staff for approvals.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and communications systems as assigned, document security-related activity, and report concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Assist with access control at entry points by observing for unusual behavior and helping to deter unauthorized entry through consistent policy compliance.
