As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors while delivering customer-focused service. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence halls, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, as assigned by post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing alarms, suspicious activity, medical events, and access control concerns, and requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Monitor and document security-related activity, complete daily activity reports and incident reports, and communicate observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Assist with access control and crowd management for campus events, deliveries, and after-hours operations, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or disruptive behavior.
