Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a public government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or operational concerns.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization as required, and assist with orderly entry and exit during normal operations and special events.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation when appropriate and timely notification to site leadership and/or public responders.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant observations and status updates to Allied Universal supervision.
