About The Position

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will make routine rounds across campus areas to help spot and report security-related concerns, support students, faculty, and visitors with clear communication, and remain a visible presence that can help to deter incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Guard Card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with campus officials and/or local first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns; document observations and incidents in required reports and logs.
  • Support security-related operations such as monitoring alarms and/or cameras where assigned, enforcing posted rules and policies, and assisting with crowd and/or event management as directed.
